WEST MERSEA BOWLS CLUB HOST CARA FOR THE DAY

CARA The Centre for Rape and Abuse CARA works with adults, young people and children who are victims and survivors or any type of sexual violence or child sexual abuse either recently or in the past.

On Wednesday, the 23rd July 30 CARA staff visited West Mersea Bowls Club and were treated to a day of learning how to bowl followed by The Spider competition and then a Team Competition. Several volunteers from the club came along to give excellent tuition to the CARA staff.

The volunteers commentated how lovely it was to see such a group of women so close and were in awe of what CARA achieves through hard work, compassion, and their expert skills.

There was a raffle and several businesses from Mersea donated prizes. Each CARA employee gave a charity nomination from the North of Essex, the area that CARA covers, and on the day £382.70 was raised and the winner was Essex Wildlife Trust.
